From next season, Red Bull athletes in all endurance sports will be able to count on the expertise of Dan Lorang. The 45-year-old Luxembourger currently heads the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe coaching team. In his new role, Dan Lorang will continue to coach individual riders from the German UCI WorldTeam.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; In recent months, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe has benefited from the performance expertise that majority shareholder Red Bull brings to the partnership. Sports medicine, nutrition, mental performance - the team attracted experts with a Red Bull background in strategically important areas. Now the synergies are going both ways to leverage the cycling know-how for the entire athlete pool.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; Ralph Denk<blockquote>"Synergies are not a one-way street. Dan Lorang to coach Red Bull athletes from 2026 season

The Opening Weekend marks the official start of the Classics season, and for Dutch rider Tim van Dijke, it was also his first race in the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe jersey. After strong performances in both Omloop Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, he shared his insights on his weekend, the team’s progress, and his ambitions for the upcoming races.<h3>Tim, you just completed your first Opening Weekend with the team, including a 15th place at Omloop Nieuwsblad. How do you reflect on your performance over the whole weekend?</h3>Tim van Dijke: I finished 15th in the end, but I can be very happy with my shape and the way I raced. But that’s racing—you can’t always control how it unfolds. Coming back from altitude for my first race, it was a good performance. Now, we build on that.<h3>Racing with a new team always comes with challenges. How was your first experience with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe in these races?</h3>Tim van Dijke: You have to get used to each other—communication, riding together. There are still things to improve, but I really enjoyed being back racing. I’m happy with how I felt out there.<h3>Where did you feel strongest during the races?</h3>Tim van Dijke: At Omloop Nieuwsblad, I think I was always up there with the best five or ten riders on every climb or sector. For me, that’s a positive—I could have also done 260 kilometers today. At this level, this is a good sign.<h3>The final moments of Omloop were hectic. Can you walk us through what happened?</h3>Tim van Dijke: It could have been a top-ten result, but when you’re boxed in with 200 meters to go, you lose speed and it's over. That’s disappointing, but such situations are also part of racing.<figure class="image"><img src="https://bora-hansgrohe-cms.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/250303_timvandijke2_b50963ae57.jpg"></figure><h3>Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne followed the next day. How did the team approach that race?</h3>Tim van Dijke: As a team, we had some nice learning points from Omloop that we could take into Kuurne, and I think we did really well. We were there more as a unit, always up front controlling, and we wanted to go for the sprint with Jordi. In the end, we lost each other a bit in the last three kilometers, and that was really disappointing. We couldn’t position Jordi in a way that allowed him to sprint for victory.This is something that takes time—to get used to each other, to work with each other. But the positive thing is that we have really strong legs. It’s just a matter of time before we get a really nice result.<h3>What do you take away from Opening Weekend for the rest of the Classics?</h3>Tim van Dijke: I take the positives from the races, but I also need to learn from it and do better next time because I know I can. The way I rode the cobbled climbs and the climbs gives me confidence for the next races. I want to perform in all the Classics, but I also want to help the team win.<h3>Looking ahead, what’s next for you?</h3>Tim van Dijke: I will race Strade Bianche and Tirreno-Adriatico. At Strade, my job will be to help the leaders of the team with positioning because it’s more of a climbers’ race. At Tirreno, I’ll support the GC guys.Photo: Maximilian Fries

Tim van Dijke: A Strong Start, but More to Come

Over the past few weeks, the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies riders have already had the chance to gain valuable race experience with the WorldTeam. But on Wednesday, at the UMAG Classic in Croatia, the U23 team will take to the start line for the first time as an independent squad—bringing high ambitions to the Adriatic coast.“The excitement is overwhelming—I can’t even describe it in words. Even though the Rookies have already put in some race miles, this is where our real journey begins,” says Grega Gazvoda, Head of Rookie Programs at Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. While all the Rookies have already competed in races this season, their time with the WorldTeam was primarily focused on learning. Now, at the UMAG Classic, they are looking to make their mark.The team will be represented by Adrien Boichies (France), Theodor August Clemmensen (Denmark), Davide Donati (Italy), Paul Fietzke (Germany), Romet Pajur (Estonia), and Callum Thornley (Great Britain). Among their competitors will be two ProTeams from Italy: Team Solution Tech - Vini Fantini and VF Group - Bardiani CSF - Faizanè. “We’ve all trained hard and put in a lot of work, so expectations are high. The hunt for the first podium in Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies history starts on Wednesday,” says a determined Gazvoda.The 142-kilometer UMAG Classic is just the beginning of their Croatian campaign. On Sunday, March 9, the team will take on another one-day race, the POREC Classic. Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies Set for Their First Race

A Green week for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe. While Maxim Van Gils took home the Sprinter's Jersey at Ruta del Sol in Andalusia, Jordi Meeus did the same at the Volta ao Algarve. The basis for each of these successes was a stage win.&nbsp;Maxim Van Gils was also able to finish fourth place in the overall standings. On the last day of the race, the 25-year-old didn't let anything get in his way either, winning the sprint of the peloton in sixth place and delivering a very consistent performance with his fourth top six result in five stages.&nbsp;"I'm happy with the week. After my crash at the Etoile de Bessèges, I had a good week of racing. I think it might even have been possible to do a bit more, but sometimes you just have to accept the situation in a race. Nevertheless, I will take a good feeling into the next few weeks," said Van Gils.&nbsp;In Portugal, Jordi Meeus was close to a double after winning stage 3 one day later. But even with second place, the Belgian was able to extend his points tally ahead of the final time trial to such an extent that there was nothing left to lose.&nbsp;"It's been a good week here at the Algarve. My goal was to win at least one stage. That worked out. We had great teamwork here. And the days served as good preparation for what comes next. I'm happy with how things turned out here," said Meeus.&nbsp;

Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe sprinter Jordi Meeus has won today's third stage of the Volta ao Algarve. The 26-year-old Belgian stayed calm amid a hectic, crash-marred finale and and had the fastest legs in the bunch sprint after 183 kilometers. Italy’s Alberto Dainese finished second, with Eritrea’s Biniam Girmay taking third place.With this triumph, Meeus secured his first victory of the year, while Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe already notched up their sixth win in this still-young season. The team’s best-placed rider in the overall standings of the Algarve Tour remains Primož Roglič. The Slovenian sits in seventh place, 23 seconds behind Swiss leader Jan Christen.Jordi Meeus: “I’m super happy with this win. I was already second in my first race of the year, and I was really focused on the first stage here in Algarve which also didn’t work out as planned. Today was another opportunity, and I felt strong all day. Volta ao Algarve: Jordi Meeus sprints to his first win of the season

Maxim Van Gils has won the opening stage of the Vuelta a Andalucia, taking his first victory in the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe kit. The Belgian also takes the leader's jersey.&nbsp;Maxim Van Gils already had good memories of the Ruta del Sol, having won the time trial last year in a race that could only be completed to a limited extent due to protests by farmers. Now the Belgian has struck again and put the strong competitors in their place in the uphill sprint after a good 160 permanently hilly kilometers at the caves of Nerja.&nbsp;“It was a hard and pretty hot stage. Everyone was feeling their legs at the end. No team could really control the race. UAE had multiple leaders and they were shooting their shots, so I had to anticipate” said Maxim Van Gils at the finish. “I know Tim well, we rode in a team, so I knew I could beat him in the sprint. And that's why it was important not to let him go.”&nbsp;&nbsp;Van Gils not only had to deal with Wellens in the final, but also with his teammate Pavel Sivakov. The trio completed the last big climb of the day together. Van Gils had to fend off the alternating attacks of his rivals, but in the end he didn't even let a missed corner on the descent stop him.&nbsp;“It's incredible what Maxim delivered here. The whole day was up and down, left and right. The adrenaline was always there,” said DS Bernhard Eisel. “The team also rode really well, including our two rookies Luke Tuckwell and Lennart Jasch.
