Tomorrow marks the start of the season for the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe U19 team grenke - Auto Eder, as they line up at the iconic Guido Reybrouck Classic in Belgium. This race is one of the most important measuring sticks for Europe’s elite junior cyclists.
"Because the U19 season starts later than the pros’, the wait for the first race always feels especially long. But now the time has come, and we’re excited to finally roll up to the start line with our new squad,” says Grega Gazvoda, Head of Rookie Programs at Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe.
The Guido Reybrouck Classic features two stages. Saturday’s race is an individual time trial over 11.4 kilometers. On Sunday, the riders face a challenging 119-kilometer road race around the Belgian town of Damme, where wind, narrow roads, and short climbs will shape the race. For many young riders, this Belgian classic is the perfect chance to make their mark on the international stage.
“All the riders are healthy and have trained very well through the winter. We’re highly motivated to deliver strong results right from the start,” says Gazvoda. Representing grenke - Auto Eder in Belgium:
